Mulkirigala Raja Maha Vihara
The Mulkirigala Rajamaha Viharaya is situated at Mulkirigala in the district of Hambantota. Mulkirigala Raja Maha Vihara comes close behind Sigiriya in architecture and style. While not as famous as the Lion Rock. This temple is even more ancient by almost a couple of centuries. Situated in Giruwa Pattu of Hambanthota District of Southern Sri Lanka, Mulkirigala is also called as Mulgirigala but the former is more prominently used at present. Mulkirigala has been identified to be the temple known as Giriba Vihara in the ancient religious chronicle Bodhi Vamsa. Mulkirigala can be reached by bus from Tangalla via either Beliatta or Wiraketiya.
